ICT - On the afternoon of November 22, Quy Nhon University (QNU) welcomed and worked with Mr. Thorsten Fastenau - Executive Vice President, Director in charge of PNE AG (Germany) on the possibility of cooperation in scientific research and human resource development.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My - Rector of QNU expressed joy at having the opportunity of welcoming the delegation of PNE AG to QNU, and at the same time, gave a brief introduction to the scale of training, scientific research and cooperative programs of QNU. He emphasized that QNU was committed to standing by localities in the region, especially Binh Dinh province, in providing human resources at all levels. He also expressed the hope that QNU and PNE AG would have positive exchanges towards cooperation in scientific research and human resource development in the near future.

Mr. Thorsten Fastenau - Executive Vice President, Head of PNE AG offered a brief overview of the project on offshore wind power in the waters of Binh Dinh province, which was expected to have a total capacity of 2,000 MW with an estimated total investment of about $US 4.6 billion. He said that on October 22, 2020, Binh Dinh province agreed to the policy for PNE AG to survey, research, install wind measuring poles, assess wind potential on some sea areas in Phu Cat and Phu My districts. This was considered as the first step in the implementation of the offshore wind power project in the waters of Binh Dinh province. He emphasized that the meeting with QNU was a good opportunity for PNE AG to learn about it as well as cooperation opportunities in many fields.

At the meeting, the lecturers gave a brief overview of the training programs run by QNU and discussed some issues concerning bilateral cooperation between the two sides in academic exchanges and scientific research, especially Materials Science, Electronic Engineering - Telecommunications, Control Engineering - Automation.

At the end of the working visit, the two sides agreed to continue to stay connected to have more in-depth discussions on cooperation possibilities between QNU and PNE AG. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My expressed a positive view on the cooperation relationship between QNU and PNE AG, wished QNU and PNE AG’s cooperation good success.
