ICT - On the morning of February 20, Quy Nhon University (QNU) met with a high-level delegation from 4 southern provinces of Laos: Champasak, Attapu, Salavan and Sekong, who paid a working visit to the University.

At the meeting, Dr. Dinh Anh Tuan - Vice Rector of QNU expressed his joy at welcoming the high-level delegation from 4 southern provinces of Laos to QNU, saying that QNU was one of the leading higher education institutions in the Central - Central Highlands region, playing an important role in training Laos students. Since 2002, QNU has offered Vietnamese language programs to Lao students. To date, QNU has provided Vietnamese language programs for more than 1,000 Lao students, and produced more than 500 Lao university and master’ graduates in different fields. After graduating, QNU-educated Lao graduates have promoted their roles and abilities when returning to their homeland. He emphasized that in the time to come, with the support of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, relevant agencies and departments, QNU would continue to create favorable conditions, improve the quality of training Lao students, and cultivate the friendship between QNU as well as Binh Dinh province and 4 southern provinces of Laos.
In the 2023-2024 academic year, QNU is cooperating with the Binh Dinh Department of Foreign Affairs and 4 Southern Lao provinces in offering a Vietnamese language program to 45 Lao students.

Mr. Sirisack Thanomhack - Director of the Department of Education and Sports of Salavan province thanked QNU’s leaders for their warm welcome and highly appreciated the University's training activities for Lao students, emphasizing that it had contributed to meeting the need for high-quality human resources for socio-economic development in the southern provinces of Laos. In addition, he also expressed the hope that QNU would continue to create favorable conditions for Lao students studying at the University, contributing to cultivating the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Binh Dinh province and 4 southern provinces of Laos in particular.
On this occasion, Mr. Sirisack Thanomhack encouraged Lao students studying at QNU to always preserve their cultural identity, promote the spirit of solidarity, effort and strive for the best academic achievements.

At the meeting, the Lao delegation and QNU leaders discussed and shared proposals with a view to continuing promoting cooperation in training Lao students, which helped cultivate the Vietnam - Laos special traditional friendly relationship.
The delegation from 4 southern provinces of Laos to QNU was received by leaders of the Binh Dinh Department of Foreign Affairs, and on the side of QNU, by Dr. Dinh Anh Tuan - Vice Rector, leaders of the Office of Research Affairs & International Relations, the Office of Undergraduate Training, the Office of Postgraduate Training, the Office of Student & Political Affairs, the Administration Office, the Center for Admissions Counseling & Business Relations, the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities and some Lao students studying at the University. |
