ICT - On the afternoon of November 9, Quy Nhon University (QNU) welcomed Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn - Royal Thai Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City on a working visit.
Since 2013, QNU has cooperated with Thai partners in training and scientific research. Specifically, the QNU signed a memorandum of cooperation with Prince of Songkla University on offering the programs in tourism and petrochemicals, opening up learning and research opportunities in Thailand for many QNU lecturers and students. In addition, QNU, Prince of Songkla University and a number of universities in Southeast Asia, has joined the HR4Asia project sponsored by the European Commission. This cooperation has brought many significant benefits to QNU.
An overview of the meeting
QNU is the Binh Dinh-based leading higher education institution with the mission of providing human resources for the South Central region and Central Highlands. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My - Rector of QNU expresses the hope that Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn will act as a bridge to help enhance cooperation in training and scientific research, including Thai language teaching at QNU, contributing to the local socio-economic development, especially tourism.

Highly appreciating the cooperation between QNU and Thai universities over the years, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn pledged to be ready to support QNU in the time to come. At the meeting, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn discussed the implementation of short-term Thai language courses at QNU and proposed a number of cooperative projects on the training and the granting of doctoral, Master’s, learning promotion scholarships and the offering of internship in Thailand for QNU students as well as the providing of support for QNU’s other training programs.
The Thai delegation to QNU included Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn - Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Tharanut Koonyotying - Thai Consul in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung - an interpreter. The delegation was welcomed by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My - Rector of QNU, heads of the Office of Research Affairs & International Cooperation, the Office of Undergraduate Training, the Administration Office, and the Center for Admissions Counseling & Business Relations. |
