FUNCTIONS & TASKS
Quy Nhon University (QNU)’s Center for Information and Communication Technology (hereinafter referred to as CICT) was formerly the Network Administration Division under the Office of Administrative Affairs, QNU.
A. Functions
CICT is a QNU-affiliated unit whose tasks are to offer the Rector advice and assistance with the application and management of IT activities in Quy Nhon University. These activities include:
1. Offering advise on the construction, management and exploitation of computer systems, network systems and Internet lines for training and other activities of the University.
2. Carrying out the application of software and information technology services in the University.
3. Carrying out the work of propagating and promoting activities and image of QNU via the web portal, the Internet, social networks, and internal computer network of the University and other media channels.
B. Tasks
1. Offering the Rector advice on promulgating documents related to the University's IT activities and providing guidance on the implementation of such documents.
2. Proposing the plan for strategic development and the management of IT infrastructure and the application of IT in the University's training and management activities assigned by the Rector.
3. Network administration
a. Handling or coordinating with internal and external units to handle arising issues of server systems, network equipment and transmission lines, computers, databases, management and training software , web portals, E-learning, and other websites developed by the University.
b. Collaborating with relevant units inside and outside the University in ensuring information security and system security.
c. Providing technical support, training and guidance for IT staff of the units.
d. Cooperating with the other units in building and managing the network, database, and computer software to synchronize with the University's IT system.
4. Application of information technology for training and other activities
a. Implementing or colaborating in deploying IT projects of the University, professional software for the training and management of the University.
b. Offering assistance with the development of applications and utilities for management and training in the University, providing IT services for units and individuals in need as assigned by the Rector.
c. E-learning, offering technical assistance, ensuring the smooth operation of the IT systems for the training and online training; implementing and managing the E-learning system.
d. Collaborating with training units in offering training courses on E-learning and other IT skills for lecturers and staff in the University.
e. Providing and managing user accounts using IT services such as email, website, wifi, management software and other network services in the University.
5. Communication and advertising
a. Running the University’s website (both Vietnamese and English).
b. Managing, storing, and protecting the content, articles, newsletters, and documents that are approved on the web portal.
c. Collaborating with Editorial Board and collaborators in publishing newsletters, articles on training, scientific research, and important events on the web portal and social networks to propagate theimage of the University.
i. Proactively processing data collected from the units (composing text content, processing images, audio, and video) about events, activities, student life and science and technology sent by the units in the University to the Editorial Board.
ii. Appealing to lecturers, scientists, students to do writing, recording, interview about the University's activities. Introducing outstanding individuals, creative activities, examples of good people and good deeds of the units.
iii. Posting articles that have been approved by the Editorial Director or the Rector.
d. Cooperating with the units inside and outside of the University in advertising and promoting the web portal, Internet, intranet and other information channels.
e. Collaborating with the Ministry’s Office of Education and Training (Educational Communications Center) in implementing the contents of the Annual Education and Training Communications Plan.
6. Performing other duties assigned by the Rector.
