1. General information
1978 - 1979 was the first academic year Quy Nhon University of Education (now Quy Nhon University) enrolled university candidates. Also in this academic year, the Department of Academic Affairs (now the University’s Training Department) was set up. The main task of the Department is to develop a strategy for study fields and training scale; implementing training regulations; setting up and carrying out training programs, recruiting and managing learning outcomes of the students.
Currently, the Department is assigned to manage the full-time and inter-level students (from college to university level) with nearly 15,000 students in 46 undergraduate majors. The Department has a staff of 8, consisting of 01 Department head, 01 Deputy Head and 06 employees.
With constant efforts in the past years, the Department members have always fulfilled their assigned tasks.
2. Functions and tasks
a) Functions
- Giving advice to the University on the development orientation of the fields and study fields; issuing regulations and training processes; enrolling university candidates, devising and implementing training plans; managing and giving out full-time university and college degrees.
b) Tasks
- proposing the development orientation of study fields, the occupational structure, the scale and method of full-time training of the University;
- proposing the development of necessary facilities for training;
- cooperating with the other units in designing and modifying the training programs and supervising the process of formal university training;
- making an annual university training plan; creating and implementing the plan of credit-based teaching; offer courses, arranging schedule; arranging for students to register for courses;
- recruiting full-time university candidates, inter-level students (from professional secondary school to college and college to university level), 2nd Degree students; recruiting international students based on high school transcripts and records;
- appraising and recognizing the value of conversion of academic results and the amount of knowledge exempted for inter-level students and transfer students;
- Managing learning results of full-time students; coordinating with the units in assessing the quality of training and the appraisal of the training process; proposing changes to improve the quality of training;
- Giving advice on regulations and academic work processes related to formal training;
- Carrying out an assessment of students’ academic achievements as a graduation requirement and an appraisal of the results of graduation assessment of student provided by the departments; delivering, checking and verifying BA degrees, copies of BA degrees, graduation certificates, transcripts and diplomas for full-time university and college students.
- Organizing university-level conferences and seminars related to the formal training.
