ICT - Within the framework of a working visit to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, on the morning of November 9, the delegation from Tacoma (Washington State, USA) led by Mr. Michael Fowler - Executive Director of the Tacoma-based World Trade Center, met with Quy Nhon University (QNU)’s leadership and discussed potential opportunities for cooperation on training, research and community service.

Expressing his joy at welcoming the delegation at QNU, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My - Rector of QNU, said that QNU was willing to cooperate with American partners in general and Tacoma, Washington State, in particular, adding that expanding exchanges and cooperation in training and research would bring benefits for both sides.
Speaking at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My said that in the development axis of Binh Dinh province, QNU had accompanied the province in such fields as logistics, renewable energy, automobile technology, and tourism for many years, adding that with the advantage of such fields as electronics and telecommunications, electrical engineering, and information technology, QNU would place importance on training engineers to welcome the trend in human resources in the semi-conductor chip industry in the coming time.

The representative of the Tacoma delegation gave a brief overview of the scale and undergraduate as well as postgraduate training programs of Milgard College of Business (University of Washington Tacoma). The delegation members also discussed with QNU some issues relating to training, exchange of lecturers, students, and scientific research.
Mr. Michael Fowler thanked QNU’s leadership for its warm welcome and interest in the American investors’ visit to Binh Dinh to find out about investment opportunities. He also expressed the hope that after the meeting, the two sides would agree on the cooperation plans in areas where the two sides have superiority, aiming to sign a memorandum of understanding to promote the relationship between QNU and Tacoma’s higher education institutions and enterprises.

Tacoma is the 3rd largest city in Washington State and it is rated by Forbes as the 4th safest city in the U.S. Promoting cooperation with international educational institutions and enterprises is one of the goals that QNU always pursues.
