ICT - On the morning of March 29, Quy Nhon University (QNU) welcomed a high-ranking delegation of 4 Southern provinces of Laos including Attapu, Champasak, Salavan, and Sekong to the University within the framework of the cooperation conference between the Binh Dinh Province People's Committee and the authorities of 4 southern provinces of Laos in the period of 2021 - 2025.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of QNU expressed his joy of welcoming the high-ranking delegation of 4 southern provinces of Laos who paid a working visit to the University, saying that expanding international cooperation was one of QNU’s strategic orientations to improve the quality of student training and sustainable development, including the training of Lao students. Over the years, Binh Dinh Province People's Committee has granted scholarships to students from the southern provinces of Laos. Standing by Binh Dinh province authorities, QNU has always paid special attention to the quality of Lao student training, upgraded its facilities, created all favourable conditions and given priority to Lao students. He emphasized that, in the coming time, with the support of the local authorities, agencies, departments, QNU would continue to create conditions and further improve the quality of Lao student training, contributing to cementing the relationship and promoting friendship between QNU, Binh Dinh province and 4 southern provinces of Laos.
In 2023, QNU started offering the Vietnamese language program to Lao students. Up to now, QNU has trained more than 1,000 Lao students with over 500 Lao undergraduate and MA students granted bachelor's and master's degrees in different fields. After graduating, these QNU-educated graduates have made a significant contribution to the development of their homeland.

Mr. Letxay Nhaphon - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Attapu province thanked QNU for its warm welcome and highly appreciated its training of Lao students, contributing to meeting the needs of high-quality human resources for the economic and social development of the southern provinces of Laos. At the same time, he expressed the hope that QNU would continue to support and create more favorable conditions for the Lao students who study at the University, contributing to cultivating the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos in general as well as between Binh Dinh province and four southern provinces of Laos in particular.

The delegation of 4 Southern provinces of Laos was led by Mr. Letxay Nhaphon - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Attapu Province, accompanied by Mr. Buntha Viduonglasi - Standing Deputy Secretary of Salavan Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Dongphet Phanhon - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Sekong Province; Mr. Sombum Huongvongsa - Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Governor of Champasak province, Mr. Souphanh Hadaoheuang - Consul General of Laos in City. Da Nang, Mr. Nguyen Van Trung - Consul General of Vietnam in Pakse (Laos) and 80 members from 4 southern provinces of Laos as well as Binh Dinh province's leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Education and Training.
