ICT - In order to orient and increase students' awareness of the role of programs in natural sciences, on the morning of November 27, Quy Nhon University (QNU) cooperated with MOMA Vietnam in organizing the 3rd Natural Science Festival (Open Day 2022). The festival was held within the framework of the MOMA project "Development of a training program in the field of molecular and research-oriented materials science", and was an opportunity for school and university students experience the world of science through experimental models, displayed products, which aroused students’s love of science, and help QNU offer career guidance to high school students.
Interesting experiments at the event attract so many high school students
The 3rd Open Day attracted more than 250 students from high schools in Quy Nhon City and Tuy Phuoc district, Quy Nhon SOS Children's Village, students of Faculty of Natural Sciences and their parents and children interseted in science. With many interesting experiments and games in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Environment, the students better understood natural subjects through access to modern equipment as well as the application of natural science subjects in life. In addition, the students also had the opportunity to visit QNU’s laboratories fully equipped to serve the teaching as well as research and directly meet and have their questions answered with QNU’s lecturers of Faculty of Science and Technology on related issues.

Attending the event, Bui Nhat Trung, a student of Hung Vuong High School, said “This is the first time I have attended such an event to enjoy the experience of natural science. Through the practical experiments at the event, I have gained a lot of useful knowledge and learned more about the theories I have learned and I feel that natural science are so close to real life."
Phan Huynh Minh Thu and Nguyen Thuan Thanh, students of Le Quy Don High School for Gifted students, were happy with the exciting atmosphere at the event. "When I have practical experience at QNU, I have access to many modern technological devices. I feel that QNU is a very dynamic higher education institution and I look forward to studying there”, he said.

The Natural Science Festival is one of the activities that link QNU with Binh Dinh-based high schools in career guidance in order to help high school students choose the right majors.

The event was attended by Ms. Le Thi Dien - Deputy Director of the Binh Dinh Department of Education and Training, Dr. Tran Thanh Son - Executive Vice President of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education, representatives of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted students, Nguyen Dieu High School, Hung Vuong High School, Tran Cao Van High School, SOS Children's Village, Quy Nhon, and on the side of QNU, by Dr. Nguyen Le Tuan - Dean of Faculty of Natural Sciences, Organizing Committee of Open Day 2022, lecturers and students of Faculty of Natural Sciences, and more than 250 school students, and their parents, who love science. |
